Hi! I'm Veronica
II'm Verónica, a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist based in Manchester, offering therapy in English and Spanish — in person and online.
I trained in Psychology and completed a Master's in General Health Psychology at the European University of Madrid, later specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University of Greater Manchester. Over the past 10+ years I've worked across the NHS, specialist third-sector organisations and private practice, supporting people through anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and stress-related difficulties.
A lot of what I see isn't just "anxiety" in the textbook sense. It's the exhausting work of masking in social situations, feeling pressure to seem confident and have the right answer, or not quite trusting that who you are underneath is enough. It can show up as social anxiety, low self-esteem, anger you don't know what to do with, or a quiet identity crisis you've never put into words. Alongside general CBT, I've developed particular experience in trauma-informed care, women's health, and I'm especially interested in how gender roles and expectations shape our anxiety, self-esteem and mental health more broadly — areas where a purely protocol-driven approach often falls short, and where a more relational way of working makes the difference.
Having lived in different countries myself, I've connected with people from many backgrounds throughout my career, and that's shaped how I work: with curiosity, flexibility, and a genuine interest in your story rather than fitting it into a fixed framework.
Therapy, for me, is collaborative. Before jumping into techniques, I take the time to understand what's actually going on — your history, your patterns, what's brought you here — and we build the work from there, combining structured CBT tools with deeper, formulation-based exploration when that's what's needed.
A little bit more about me
Outside of work, sport, nature and time away from screens keep me grounded, especially in or around water. It's not a coincidence that my logo is wave-shaped!
Without sport and salsa dancing I wouldn't be able to do my job, but you'll also find me reading about philosophy, trying to understand the world a little better.
The ocean makes me feel free. It's taught me humility and how to adapt to change — lessons I carry into both my personal life and my work.
I'm Spanish and based in the UK, and I understand firsthand the complex emotional landscape that comes with moving countries and navigating shifts in identity.
